Friday we spent the afternoon at the Doctor for the kids school physicals. I told them if they were well behaved and brave (due to the need for shots) I would take them to the local pool on Saturday. Well they both did well so I had to pay up. But first we spent Friday night out at Hickory Hills with our neighbors who were camping for the weekend. It was fun to relax with them. The kids were sad that we were not staying the night but that just opened the door for future camping adventures.
I tried to capture Henry on the slide multiple times but this is the best I could do.
Zoe not only played while Henry and I were there but one of her friend's moms asked if she could stay longer with them and they would bring her home. This kid was in the water for 5 1/2 hours.
Lets just state that saying she was exhausted when she got home was the understatement of the year.
I spent most of the rest of Saturday afternoon along with time on Friday and Sunday working on the garden. My garden is growing very well especially the weeds.
Wayne spent a good part of the weekend working with his Dad. Wayne's folks came for a visit to do some more work on the fort and also remove one of our kitchen windows. We are continuing to make baby steps in renovating our kitchen.
I tried to capture a photo of Wayne and his dad working together but my cell phone camera was not adequate. His dad is on the exterior side of the window but in the photo all he is is light.
I also made (with some cutting and chopping help from my mother-in-law) my first batch of jam. This is Strawberry Rhubarb. I made it especially for my mom. I just had some for my lunch and it is phenomenal.
Sunday night we started Vacation Bible School so it looks to be a fun week after a fun but tiring weekend.
PS - I am working with the kids to use the word Awesome less often. We are now focusing on the words phenomenal and stupendous.

Looks like a fun and busy summer! The jam sounds delicious. Good luck with the kitchen.
You better not eat all my jam! I made rhubarb sauce today. Everyone is talking about the jam and I just needed a fix.
Window is going to be stupendous!
