Messy Birthday Party for Henry's 4th Birthday

Tomorrow my baby will be 4.  This weekend he had his first friend birthday party.

He likes to look at pinterest with me and we happened apart a Team UmiZoomi cake.  So we aske Grandma Castle if she could make it and she came through with a great cake.

The birthday party theme was a messy birthday party.  We invited all the neighborhood kids and his best bud from birth.

The first activity was painting.  We had balloons filled with paint and tennis balls dipped in paint that they threw at canvases.  It was a lot of fun and all the kids loved it.

Next we did Jello toss and a spaghetti noodle relay.

We then took a break from games for CAKE!

We had them all eat outside.  The weather was just perfect for the party.

After cake we played hide-and-seek while we got the next activity ready.

Silly string was next and was loads of fun.

Henry was pretty bummed that his can was empty.

After posing for this photo we played a game called "who can make the biggest ball of silly string while you pick it up."  It was hysterical how involved they were in this game.

We did one of our family favorites next... Soda and Mentos volcanos.  We had 5 bottles and lots of cheers and excited kids.

The mentos were supposed to be the last activity but I managed to forget one so we did it at the end.  Luckily Wayne remembered it before all the kids left.  We had a donut eating contest without using our hands.

After the party the kids played with slime we had made earlier in the week.  We were going to have it for the party but we didn't make enough so we kept it for ourselves.

With a friends party comes the opportunity to share with others.  Henry had his friends bring food for the food bank.  An added twist was some of the friends gave money instead of canned goods so Henry was able to shop for the food bank too.

After all the friends left we let Henry open some of his birthday presents.

I think he was excited.
